Dr. Pandiella obtained his Ph.D degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1987. His scientific training outside Spain includes four years (1985-1989) as a pre- and post-doctoral student at the Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan and three years at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (1989-1992 New York, U.S.A)
Later, for one year, Dr. Pandiella worked at the Department of Physiology of the University of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. From 1994 up to 2001, he has been on the team of the Institute of Biochemical Microbiology of the University of Salamanca. His research line focuses on the functional characterisation of molecules involved in the genesis and promotion of different solid tumours in humans, in particular breast cancers.
