This group is focused in the cytogenetics and molecular characterization of cancer.
The scientific contribution of this line of research is competitive and internationally renowed. The main lines of research being developed are the following:
A) Expression profiling by high-density microarrays and next generation sequencing of hematological malignancies.
B) Methylation and miRNA patterns of solid tumours.
C) Pharmacogenomics of new drugs used in cancer therapy.
The challenges of the group will be the integration of the data obtained oin the different research lines in order to provide a personalized medicina in cancer therapy. In addition, the implementation of all of these new tools, including next generation sequencing and the translation to the clinical setting is also a main goal of the group.

After graduating in Biotechnology (2015) at the University of Cádiz (Spain), I started my scientific career at the Cancer Research Center-University of Salamanca(Spain), under the supervision of Professor Dr Jesús M. Hernández Rivas, developing the master degree "Biología y clínica del cáncer". I began my PhD studies in 2016 supported by a Predoctoral Grant from Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC), working on the study of B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). This project is mainly based on the study of patient samples through the use of NGS technology and the generation of genetically modified models, both in vitro and in vivo.
