C3G regulation of platelet function using animal models and its impact on ischemia and tumor metastasis

Biography

Our group is mainly interested in the study of the signaling mechanisms regulated by the C3G-Rap1 pathway in platelets that can contribute to different pathologies, such as the development of thrombotic diseases or cancer. For this, we have knockout and transgenic mouse models, in which the C3G gene is deleted or overexpressed, respectively, exclusively in megakaryocytes.

As a secondary line, we are also studying the role of C3G in hematopoiesis with an emphasis on megakaryopoiesis.
